Cat Door and Me

Did you know that a small 11-pound poodle can fit real nicely through a little cat door?  I didn’t either until the other night!  This is how Mrs. Stillman found out too.

Mrs. Stillman gave me a peanut butter bone with a big smile. Then she snuck out the back door. She didn’t use the front door cause she knew I would once again try to erase it with my magic paws. I was pretty worried about her. It was dark out and I thought she might be in great danger.

Well I dropped that bone like a lead balloon and ran to her exit door.  I sniffed and sniffed and tried to erase it, just like the front door. That didn’t work so I sniffed this funny looking plastic thing right in the middle of it that had some air coming thru it. I pushed it with my nose and Voila! Open Sesame!

I bolted through the passage to save Mrs. Stillman. But by the time I got outside her car was nowhere in sight. So I decided to check out the neighborhood. It smelled great!  But after peeing on as many spots as I could, having no pee left to spend, I decided to go home. But where was home?  Hmmmm.

They tell me that when Mrs. Stillman came home with some friends to meet me she was so anxious to get inside that she gave up trying to read a little note hanging on the door. She walked in the house with a big smile calling Libby Libby!! But I wasn’t there!  She started crying and running all over the house. Then she ran outside sniffling like a big baby. She didn’t find me.  So she just stopped for a second and cried, “NO,  No No!

Finally one of her friends yelled,

JOYCE!  LISTEN! It says here:
Dear Joyce, We found you cute doggie walking around so we took her   into our house. She is so cute.
Your Neighbors,
Theresa and Gary.

Well I hear Mrs. Stillman just froze and closed her eyes for a minute. The next thing I knew Gary and Theresa’s bell rang and there was Mrs. Stillman at the door. Bad timing! I was right in the middle of a very informative discussion with a Giant Dog about fire hydrants.

Of course I had to end the discussion and run up to her. If I hadn’t she would have cried again.  So then we went home.

That’s how Mrs. Stillman learned that an eleven-pound poodle can fit through a little cat door.

Oh Libby!! You scared your Mom half to death. Shame on you! You have no idea do you? I am glad you were found safe and sound and your Momma can rest easy. No more cat door for you! Silly silly dog!

OMG Libby. What a scary adventure that must have been for you. I'm so glad you are back home safe and sound with Mrs. Stillman. At least its a tail with a happy ending. :)

Thank you every one for your concern, but I'm sure I would have made it back to Pennsylvania if the neighbors hadn't picked me up anyway.
Love, Libby

Libby, next time Mrs. Stillman leaves just give me a call and we will find her together. Also, I think it might be a good idea for you to get your driver's license.

Love,

Jill
